I tripped to Bosnia from 5 to 12 July! My purpose to participate marš mira. I will explain about it next time, but today I will tell audiences my Sarajevo's trip with photos ;)
The hostel is really cheap, one night per person is 9 euro. I booked one day before I leave Ljubljana. Owner picked me up for free. He was really friendly. When I arrived at Sarajevo, it was already around 22:00. I slept soon when i arrived at hostel, because I was really tired of moving from Ljubljana to Sarajevo. Anyway, I could use a big room for myself! |
This is the orthodox church. It is located in near my hostel. I woke up early morning. And I found it out! |
This is Ali Pasha Mosque. On the way to the bank, to exchange money. I found it out. It was built in 1560. Bosnian Sanjak-Bey Hadim Ali-Pasha contributed to built it. The Mosque is located near center of Sarajevo. The mosque got heavy damage during the Bosnian War from 1992 to 1995. In 2004 the mosque was restored. Anyway, it was very beautiful.
|
Afterh I finished exchanging money and checking time table of bus, I went to the Old Town, Baščaršija. In there many Turkish goods are sold, like coffee pots, scarfs and small stuffs. I really wanted to buy for me, friends and family, but I did not, because I did not want my luggage to be so heavy. Next time I want to enjoy shopping too!!! |
Everybody enjoyed their time. I watched three mosques at least in the old town..Oh, I ate Čevapčič which is like sausage without its skins. Usually we eat it with onion and bread. Before I visited Bosnia, my friends pushed me to eat it in Bosnia. Yeah, it was really delicious and cheap. It was 3 euro. |
This is Sebilj. Mehmed-Pasha Kuhavica built it in 1753. Sebilj is located at Baščaršija squarat . Many people gather at this place and Sarajevo pigeons also like here. As you see my header, it was really really beautiful view. I felt like I was in the past. Here, I met a man. He asked me that "Do you need accommodation ?" I said "No". First I was scared of him, but while we talked about Japan, the earthquake and Bosnia, my fear was disappeared. Finally we had a coffee and he invited me his house!! |
According to him, his house is very traditional Bosnian house. He did not change anything of his house since he was born. His house was full of old stuffs. It was nice! |
And he showed me the great view from his balcony! It was awesome view!!! |
He introduced me to this. Javni means public, so in Sarajevo, since 1530 they have had public wc. But, in 1992, it was destroyed by Serbian air attack during the Bosnian War. In 2001 wc was reconstructed. |
After I said good bye to him, I went to Latin Bridge. This is the place that Gavrio Princip assassinated the Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife, Sophie on 28 June 1914. |
I went to the museum of Sarajevo Assassination. Entrance fee was 1 euro. This photo is the pants Princip wore. |
After that I just walked around the old town. I realized that Bosnia has many sloops. I walked uphills and took photos. |
This is the markare produce market. People sell fruits, flowers. vegetables and tabaco. It was very lively since the morning.
|
I walked around again, but it was very hot, so I was thirsty all the time. Anyway, this is Ali Pasha bridge. On the bridge, I met some French guy. We had a beer!
There were no problems during staying Sarajevo. Everybody can speak English fluently. And the culture and history are so rich. Wounds of war still remain in Sarajevo, but it is not all. I am very impressed with that Muslim mosque, orthodox church and catholic church are built in the same town, because it means people accept each other's religion and customs from the past. To be continue.... |
