My note of a journey to Hungary-Budapest 2

The second day, we went to Hero's square!! On the way to there, we found out markets!! Look! It is traditional Hungarian tea cups! They were made from aluminium. The price is from 2.5~5 euro. Next time, I will buy it..at least one.. There are ear rings!! Small one is 3 euro, but long one is 5 euro. I got two, small red small earrings and orange long earrings!!! ;) They are Christmas wreath! Do you see the red peppers are used to make these. These wreaths are very aromatic. These smells like orange and cinnamon♪ The price is about 5 euro.    We walked for 40 minutes from the market, then we reached Hero's square! In there you can see successive Hungarian heroes; Stephen I (reign 1001-1038) Ladislaus I, (reign1077-1095) Coloman (reign 1095-1116), Andrew II (reign 1205-1235), Bela IV (reign1235-1270), Charles I (reign1312-1342), Louis I (reign1342-1382), John Hunyadi (reign1446-1453), Matthias Corvinus (reign1458-1490), Istavan Bocskay (reign1605-1606), Gabriel Bethlen (re

DONE!!

Right now I have finished knitting for first time in my life! When I was a high school student, I could not make short pants in class. (In Japan we have class for cooking and sawing..) However, I DONE! Yeaaah! This scarf is little bit short, but I really like it :) In Slovenia, wool is sold from 3.5 euro and needles is sold from 5.5 euro! If you wanna buy scarf, maybe you have to pay 10euro or more than that! But if you can knit, you can make one scarf as you wish, length or colour!! When I move my fingers, I can be so relaxed! Next time, I want to knit more high quality scarf!!!!  Please try knitting!

My note of a journey to Hungary -Budapest-

From 5 to 7 November, I went to Hungary, Budapest with my roomy! We planed this trip so quickly, booking hostel, buying train ticket, deciding what we will do in Budapest! We live in Ljubljana, so we bought tickets in Slovenske želznice . To Budapest, we can buy 39 euro or 58 euro for 2 ways. The differences is higher one goes Croatia border. We planed to take night train, we bought higher one. It takes 9 hours!!! This is the Budapest Keleti station! It is so huge place and reminded me Hurry Potter's station!! We exchanged money from Euro to Hungarian forint, but it was mistake, because exchange rate are so high. If you want to exchange money in Budapest, you should go to bank or exchange money office in city. It is quiet cheap! At that time 1 euro=300~305 forint! but exchange money office in the station is 1 euro=240~270 forint! First we went to hostel. It is located near main chain bridge! We used hostelbookers.com . Our hostel is 5.72 euro per person and day. We stayed 2 nig

Kolo i Velika Žurka

On 5 October I watched Kolo!! Do you know what kolo is? Kolo is folk dance in Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro. Generally it is danced by country sides and people dance it in the wedding, social and cultural ceremonies. It is better for you to watch it rather than I mention longer! My friend is dancing in this video! Kolo is like team sports, so Japanese also can enjoy it! One of features of kolo is to move legs, not upper body. It looks like hard exercise. Depends on the regions, costumes and ornaments are different. It related to geographical circumstances or their culture. I heard it the explanation about Kolo, but almost in Serbian language!!! I shame on me, I studying the Balkan history, but I cannot understand language. While I was listening their explanation, I felt that.... Anyway, their performance was amazing and I like their dance!! After the performance, I joined the Velika  Žurka (means Big Party)!!! When I arrived at the place, many people already began t

A short trip to Bulgaria

From 14 to 17 August, I went to Bulgaria with my friends!    What do you imagine about Bulgaria? Yogurt  Kotoosyu (Sumo wrestler from Bulgaria) Maybe Japanese people imagine these two things when they hear "Bulgaria".     Bulgaria is one of the Balkans countries and had been part of the Ottoman Empire since the 14th century.   In Tivoli resolution of 1909 which is conference held in Ljubljana, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, and Bulgaria made an agreement to establish autonomous South Slavic state, however  during the Second Balkan War, Bulgaria fought against Serbia. Serbia defeated decisively Bulgaria. The First World War, Bulgaria was also one of the defeated countries. By 1991 Bulgaria was under the communist regime. Anyway, Bulgaria has complicated and rich history. I decided to go to Bulgaria suddenly when my friend who has lived in Ljubljana for 10 years, invited me to go to Bulgaria. She plays softball in Ljubljana, then the tournament was held in Bulgaria. It

Film pod Zvezdami

Hello! Pod zvesdami means under the stars so last night I watched film with my friend under the star! We went up the top of Ljubljana castle and got ice cream for free and watched film. It was very cold, but so romantic and fun! Film pod zvazdami is from 28 July to 21 August! Ticket is 3.8 euro per person!  In Ljubljana, many summer festivals are held, like jazz concert, international festival and free concert in Trnovo. Everybody gather center and enjoy their own time. In winter, Ljubljana is so quiet and cold, but summer is very opposite. You should go Ljubljana once, but in summer;P

Rest in Veliki Grđevac

After said good bye to Bosnia, I went to Veliki Grđevac by the night train. Veliki Grđevac is located in about the center of Croatia, near Bjelovar and my room mate's home town! (Bejelovar is near Zagreb) First I took a night train from Sarajevo to Zagreb, and changed train from Zagreb to Bjelovar. My friend's father pick me up in there and go to Grđevac!   I visited there once during Easter on this year. I really like her family and Grđevac! As Bosnian people, they have big hospitality and good heart. I was so tried and dirty. I was still sad because of parting from Bosnian friends and could not believe that I was in Bosnia few hours ago. But when I arrived at Zagreb station, I had to wake up. I phoned to my friend and bought a ticket. I did not have a time, so I just did eveything quickly. In the train, there were no announce, so I had to listen where the train arrives at. When I opened the door of the train,my friend and father were waiting for me near the train, no

My note of a journey to Bosnia! (5)

The morning of the last day! Last naight we ate snacks and had a drink and talked a lot. I slept very well! It was really good not to rain, but it was so hot. Look! Do you see long line of partipants? It is like snake!! Today's road was narrow and rough.    This is Orthodox church. Orthodox is Serbs' religion. As I mentioned before, Muslims. Catholics and Orthodox have lived together peacefully in Bosnia. In western Europe same Christianity group triggered religious wars. Compare to that, Bosnia was so peaceful country.   This is traditional Serbian house. They had same design house for live stocks. I remembered that I watched caws, and sheep!!   We had take a rest under the cherry tree. One of my friends climbed tree to grab cherries! I really wanted to do that, but my food was so awful. I gave up and just concentrated on eating.  Potočari! We will reach the goal soon! But it was far awaaaay.    Evo ti. Here is Srebreica. This is grave for victims. Did you see green graves

My note of a journey to Bosnia! (4)

The Second day of marš mira!! I just slept for 3 hours, because it was uncomfortable for me in the tent. I could not sleep at all, I walked around. It was 6:00am. Some people already departed, but my friends still slept well, maybe because of "party" :D  Everybody woke up at around 7:00am and washed teeth and face and got ready for march! Already sunshine glared on the ground. I put sun block on my body and we went! We took a great photo, but I just announce, because of privacy problems :)  You will guess that beautiful nature make me relaxed, but in fact, my food was so hurt. Other members were so lively and walked fast. Further, they had appetite, so ate a lot. Of course I had nothing appetite.  Bosnian Muslims escaped from Bosnian Serb Army through the river in a photo. I imagine that scene. Beautiful landscape and the reality of war was so different.,,,I just stared at the river.  Today's most hard part was the UDRČ. We climbed up 1043m. I have read  UDRČ had so ro
